Scope and Contents
This collection consists of seven boxes containing copies and transcripts of journals, diaries, biographies, and autobiographies of early settlers of Cache Valley. Some of these histories are brief sketches of the subject's life, while others span several decades. Also included is research material, and brief histories gathered by Joel E. Ricks concerning individual settlements both in Cache Valley and in other regions of the Great Basin. Most of the research material is housed in boxes six and seven which have been added as an addendum to the original collection. The first five boxes are available on six rolls of microfilm under Utah Reel #92. Some items have been removed from the collection, bound in book form and catalogued under call # 979.2 R426, vols 1-9. These are available in the Special Collections Book Collection, and volume information is included in the relevant folders.
