Chamber financial booklet, 1987-1990
Scope and Contents
This twenty-one box collection contains the historical papers of the Cache Chamber of Commerce. The materials in this collection consist of the Chamber's files, financial papers, blueprints, and meeting minutes, spanning the period from 1907 to 1999 and yielding detailed information about early economic ventures in the Cache Valley area. Some economic ventures of special interest include the mandatory closure of all businesses in Logan on Wednesday afternoons during the 1910s and 1920s to support the local baseball team, the operation of a town pool hall during the 1910s and 1920s, promoting the construction of Logan's sidewalks and roads, railroad involvement, and the construction of the Logan City Post Office.
The materials in this collection have been divided into three series, Series I: Chamber minutes and files, Series II: Financial papers, Series III: Blueprints and floor plans.
For additional information on the activities of the Cache Chamber of Commerce, researchers should see the published version of Chamber's annual reports published by the Herald Journal from 1960 to the 1990s in January or early February of each year.
