Scope and Contents
These papers consist of notes, photos, drafts and research gathered in preparation for Lisa Godfrey's thesis, "Mining the Colorado Plateau: The Story of Calamity Mesa 1910-1970." The thesis is an examination of a mining community in southwestern Colorado, and it was prepared as part of an application to designate the area as a national historic site. Copies of the thesis are available on microform, both in Special Collections and Archives and in the USU library's microform area.
The first four boxes contain research files and drafts of the thesis. Boxes 6 and 7 are interviews on cassette tapes. The last box holds tapes, notepads and slides of Colorado.
