Equipment, Substitution Approvals, Correspondence
Scope and Contents
This collection deals almost totally with the training of military personnel on campus. Between 1940 and 1944, the college became a hub of activity for War Production Training. Some of this was undertaken prior to the outbreak of WW II, and some afterwards. Some of the training occurred under programs offered by the federal government and War Department, while others received funding from the state. Programs represented here include the National Youth Administration (NYA); Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP); Engineering, Science, Management War Training Program (ESMWTP); and the National Defense Training Program, and War Production Training Program, both operated by the Utah State Board of Vocational Education, with federal funds.
