This collection is related to S. Stuller’s master thesis project. It contains 21 cassette tapes and accompanying transcripts of interviews done with the founders of both Outside/Rolling Stone and Mariah, including Jann Wenner, Larry Burke, Tim Cahill, Terry McDonnell, Will Hearst, Harriet Fier, and others, conducted between 1980 and 1982. Also includes materials titled "Thesis: Content Analysis," which includes a "content analysis sheet" for each Outside issue from 1977 to 1988.The collection helps with an understanding of the magazine’s history and the early writers, resources, and advertisers involved.
