Connor, Patrick Edward. One page correspondence to William A. Carter. [Camp Douglas, Utah Territory], January 17, 1866. 20 lines in ink on "Head-Quarter District of Utah, Great Salt Lake City, U.T." letterhead. Connor's letter concerns his request for leave for the east, and its rejections. Connor asks Carter (in jest?) to intercede on his behalf, "I wish you would telegraph to some friend in Washington to intercede with the Secretary to grant me 90 days leave of absence."
Patrick Edward Connor (1820-1891) was a generaal in the U.S. Army and is known for his campaigns in the American West.
