West Cache Irrigation Company secretary's papers
Scope and Contents
Papers include some of the first papers from 1894 when Wood gathered a group of West Side landowners to begin planning the construction of a canal from Bear River to irrigate lands in Cornish, Trenton, Amalga, and Newton, Utah. A block of correspondence with Utah Mortgage and Loan Corporation of Logan explains much of the financing problems of the company. The papers also contain engineer's estimates for various segments of work done on the canal and pay vouchers showing the disbursement of funds for such construction.
