Cache Citizen photograph collection
Scope and Content Note:
The Cache Citizen Photograph Collection consists of 182 black and white photos of people, scenes, and events in Cache Valley including the USU football team, the Miss Dairy Princess Contest, the Spectrum Dance Festival, hunters tagging deer, drug paraphernalia, children's art projects, and the Providence mayor judging a Pie Contest. These images were taken between 1985 and 1989, to supplement articles written for the newspaper the Cache Citizen.

Historical Note:
The first issue of the Cache Citizen was published September 1985 as the new weekly entertainment/news magazine for The Herald Journal. Mike Simmons, the Herald Journal managing editor instituted the magazine as not only entertainment news but as a place to feature in-depth stories on issues and concerns to Cache Valley residents. Julie Simon, staff members, and freelance artists were responsible for the writing, photography, and publication of the newspaper. Some of the contributing photographers represented in this collection are: Erin Calmes, August Miller, Darin Oswald, Wendy Peacock, Mary Hampton, Armadillo, Russ Belliston, Marcia Banks, Stephanie Maurer, Robert Decker, Candy Barnhardt, Bruce Bennett, and Darren Jensen.

Arrangement
The first eleven folders are arranged topically while the remaining seven folders consist of miscellaneous Cache Valley resident images.

Collection created by The Herald Journal and the Cache Citizen.

Donated by The Herald Journal of Logan, Utah.
Researcher Note:
Folder nineteen contains twenty-five proof prints. Folder twenty contains all duplicate photos existing in the collection.
