Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 385 photographs and 72 negatives covering the history of USU’s College of Agriculture. This collection illustrates ways in which students learned about various types of livestock, animal husbandry, judging contests, field trips, range conditions, etc. Also included are a few unique images of the USU campus at winter time. Additionally, it reflects the various national and international locations where students participated in a variety of activities that developed and enhanced their agricultural education.

Biographical Note
Established in 1888 as a land grant school, Utah State University (formerly known as the Agricultural College of Utah) has engaged students in various agricultural sciences such as animal management, sciences, and husbandry. Examples of how students participated in agricultural based learning at USU are represented throughout the collection.
Many photos and negatives in this collection are associated with James Allen Bennett, a former student of the College of Agriculture at Utah State University. Other individuals identified throughout the collection include Professor A. C. Esplin, Russel Keetch, Charles Redd, Wilford Wintch, Clair Accord, Rael Argyle, Jack Marotz, Bill Martin, Ray Rice, Barry Davis, Blaine Olsen, Richard Folkman, Adrian Blau, Dr. Joseph Street, Dr. Warren C. Foote, Lorin E. Harris, and Milton A. Madsen.
