Scope and Contents
The materials in the Collection include the final report and biographical information forms by Steve Siporin, and Steve Siporin's contact sheets and log sheets, and Steve Siporin's slides and log sheets. NOTE: Although the slide log lists information for all the slides, they are not all in the collection. As well, all the items collected in the IAW fieldwork project are not in this collection. The complete collection is housed at the Library of Congress. For more information go to American Folklife Center: Utah. The collection is housed in an acid-free box and sorted into separate folders and stored in USU's Special Collections.

Open to public research. To access the collection a patron must have the following information: collection number, box number, folder number and item number. The materials do not circulate and are available in USU's Special Collections and Archives.

Historical note
Fieldwork for the Carbon County, Utah, section of the "Italian-American in the West," (IAW) project took place during the summer and early fall of 1990. Fieldworkers Tom Carter, Phil Notarianni, and Steve Siporin conducted the fieldwork. The Italian-American in the West" was a project of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Carter was assisted by two graduate students from the School of Architecture at the University of Utah, Margaret (Bee) Bergold and Susan Anderson.
