Content Description
The Steve McDonald papers document a successful industrial design career in the outdoor industry through school work, sketches, notebooks, documents, and other related materials ranging from 1976-2016. Of particular interest may be McDonald’s school work from his time at the ArtCenter College of Design, his consulting work for Nike ACG, and the numerous inspirational collage books he created.

Biographical / Historical
Steve McDonald studied at the University of Utah and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in product and environmental design. His varied career included stints as architect, designer, Design Director, Creative Director and consultant for such companies as frog design, OPINARI, Espirit de Corp., Nike, Burton Snowboards, Fila Outdoor, Black Diamond, and Under Armour.
Steve’s design career spans the industrial design industry’s shift from analog to digital methodologies and parallels the rise of the outdoor industry.
