The Jan Harold Brunvand Book Collection comprises approximately 15 linear feet of books, journals, and related ephemera donated by folklorist Jan Harold Brunvand. The collection reflects Brunvand’s career-long interest in contemporary legend and urban folklore while documenting the broader field of folklore studies. It includes Brunvand’s own publications, standard reference works, international studies of rumor and legend, runs of professional folklore journals, and a small selection of manuscripts, pamphlets, and popular culture items.
