Biographical / Historical
Utah State University’s (USU) Civil Aeronautics Administration established an aviation program in 1939 as part of the Civilian Pilot Training Act to prepare pilots and mechanics for service in the U.S. Army Air Corps. By 1946, the program began offering degrees in aeronautics under the School of Engineering. The department now operates out of the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
