Biographical Note
Frederick Kowallis was born on January 4, 1919 to Karl and Johanna Kowallis of River Heights, Utah. He graduated from Utah State Agricultural College in 1949. After briefly serving in the military, he completed a mission to New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kowallis then returned to Logan around 1955 and married a woman named Christine, but a review of the telephone directories suggests he moved shortly thereafter. He died in Ridgecrest, California, on July 9, 1982.
Kowallis Implement Company was run by the family of Wilhem Kowallis, Karl’s brother, including his two sons, Charles and Wilford. It was an agricultural implement, general hardware, and repair business located at 36 S. Main Street in Logan, Utah, that served farmers and businesses throughout Cache Valley (Utah and Idaho).
