Conditions Governing Use
When the College of Agriculture was created in 1957, the Department of Applied Sciences Technology and Education was known as the Department of Agricultural Education. However, two years later, the department moved operation to the College of Education from 1959 to 1963.By 1964, the department moved back to the College of Agriculture under the same name until 1991. Over the years, the department has undergone several name changes, including Agricultural Systems Technology and Education from 1992 to 2011, the School of Applied Sciences Technology and Education from 2011 to 2020, and its current name, Applied Sciences Technology and Education. The department focuses on vocational agriculture, one- to two-year programs that are geared towards preparing students for the workforce.
From 1957 to 2025, the Department of Applied Sciences Technology and Education, and all previous iterations, operated out of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. The department now operates out of the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
