Bibliography

When the College of Agriculture was created in 1957, the Department of Plants, Soils & Climate was originally known as the Department of Horticulture and as the Department of Agronomy until the two were combined in 1964 under the new department names Plant Science and Soils and Meteorology. Both departments existed until the early 1990s, when they were combined and renamed the Department of Plants, Soils & Biometeorology. In 2007, the department was renamed once again as the Department of Plants, Soils & Climate.

From 1957 to 2025, the Department of Plants, Soils & Climate, and all previous iterations, operated out of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences until its closure in 2025.The department now operates out of the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney College of Agriculture & Natural Resources under the same department name.
