Scope and Contents

This materials in this collection are divided into two categories: post office materials and personal papers. The post office materials consist of records from the Portage Post Office, including registers of money orders, window registration books, delivery registers, cashbooks, and a register of transit and delivered mail. Also in this series is an unpublished work entitled, "History of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States: Utah Chapter" compiled by Eleen T. Wilson in 1969, as well as and a set of rubber stamps from the post office and a scrapbook with pictures of Utah postmasters. Personal papers include genealogies and family histories, travel memorabilia, and address books.

Biographical Note

Ora K. Hoskins (1906-1983) was the postmaster in Portage, Utah, a community located just west of Interstate 15 at the very north end of Utah.
