This Photograph was made by Ed Danielsen, a Reed College friend of Philip Whalen's, on a visit to Whalen's Sourdough Mountain lookout. The photograph was loaned to John Suiter by Philip Whalen for digital scanning, retouching and publication in Poets on the Peaks. Danielsen is deceased, and the original photograph is now part of the Philip Whalen Papers at Bancroft Library, UC Berkeley.
