Abstract

The Smithfield Oral History Project contains 37 interviews with residents of Smithfield, Utah. The majority of interviews were conducted by Lawrence Cantwell. William "Robert" Thornley had the items digitized, transcribed, and printed by the Clark and Gladys Thornley Foundation. Transcriptions made possible by a generous grant from the Utah Humanities Council/ Utah State History.

Abstract The bulk of the collection is letterbooks (1880-1901), dealing primarily (after 1883) with the affairs of the Thatcher Brothers Banking Company; also includes materials concerning the L.D.S. Church in Cache Valley, the Logan L.D.S. Temple, the Utah and Northern Railroad, Logan City Government, and the Democratic Party.
