Abstract The C.W. Carter photograph collection consists of 47 carte-de-visite photographs and 3 stereographs. Some, if not all, of these images were taken by Carter before the building of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1868-1869. This one-box collection contains photocopies of W. A. Carter's financial records during his operation as sutler at Fort Bridger, Wyoming, and business dealings with the United States military between 1858 and 1860.
